Enhancement and implementation of network infrastructure and security of general Miguel Malvar elementary school
This study redesigned and partially implemented a secure and scalable network infrastructure for General Miguel Malvar Elementary School (GMMES) to address limited coverage and security vulnerabilities in the existing system. Using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), the researchers integrated VLAN segmentation, dual-WAN redundancy, a Windows Server 2019 file server, and a captive portal for user authentication. Partial implementation improved wireless coverage and security on the second floor, while full deployment was simulated in a controlled environment. Performance tests confirmed reduced latency, improved bandwidth, and enhanced wireless connectivity, validated through heat map analysis and user feedback. The study demonstrates a practical approach to modernizing network infrastructure in resource-constrained educational institutions, offering a scalable model for broader implementation.
