DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MOREHEAD-AZALEA COMPILER (MAC)
Within the realm of computer science exists the ever ubiquitous programming language compiler. The role of the programming language compiler is that of a translation device which, among other things, must correctly and efficiently translate its source language to any number of target languages. For example, the C compiler is designed to convert its source code into executable binaries that are backed by a myriad of so-called instruction set architectures, such as x86-64. In any case, this translation process is said to be opaque to the compiler’s end-user, allowing for the automation of an end-to-end source program to target language pipeline. Our goal, then, is designing and developing such a pipeline as to allow for the existence of the novel ”Azalea” programming language.
