Study on the resistance of composite insulators to electric start-up traces and etching performance
In order to study the influence of operating years on the tracking and erosion resistance of composite insulators, according to GB/T 6553-2014 standard, the silicone rubber of shed was tested for tracking and erosion resistance. And fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were used to explore the evolution mechanism of the resistance to electric scratching and erosion. With the increase of operating years, the resistance to electric scratching and erosion depth showed a trend of increasing first and then decreasing as a whole. The tracking resistance of shed silicone rubber is related to the filler Al(OH)3 and the bond energy of chemical bonds between atoms in the formula. The lower the chemical bond energy of silicone rubber, the deeper the electrical erosion depth. The more the amount of Al(OH)3 filled and the more uniform the distribution, the better the tracking resistance of silicone rubber.
