Research and application of a new charge and discharge control strategy for energy storage
Under the system of two-part electricity pricing, time-of-use electricity price has a significant influence on industrial enterprises about consuming electricity. Industrial and commercial enterprises can use new energy storage system (ESS) for peak shaving and valley filling and reduce the electricity cost by avoiding an increase in demand charge. However, they also need to avoid the demand charge generating extra spending. This paper puts forward a control strategy of ESS charge and discharge with maximum demand as the constraint. The control strategy controls the charging and discharge power of the ESS by predicting the maximum demand and setting the strategy parameters, collecting the incoming power of the power grid and comparing with the power of the ESS. Last, through analyzing example, showing that using this strategy can effectively use the difference of peak and valley electricity price for arbitrage, reduce the demand charge and improve the electricity bill income of industrial enterprises.
