Adaptive Multimode Control Scheme of Energy Storage Power Converter in DC Shipboard Microgrid
In recent years, the direct current (DC) shipboard microgrid has emerged as a significant area of research, particularly in relation to complex scenarios involving multiple energy sources, loads, and storage systems. The architecture of DC shipboard microgrids encompasses various power sources, both alternating current (AC) and DC loads, as well as energy storage systems and their associated power converters. These systems operate under intricate conditions and frequently undergo mode switching, which necessitates enhanced requirements for operational range, mode switching methodologies, and overall applicability. This article introduces an adaptive multimode control scheme that employs multiple control loop autonomous switching, enabling rapid adaptation to the diverse operating conditions of DC shipboard microgrids and enhancing control performance. A redesigned multiple loop competition method is presented to align with the varying control objectives of energy storage converters across different operational scenarios. Additionally, a closed-loop power balance control scheme is proposed, which takes into account instantaneous power and the state of charge (SOC) of batteries, thereby facilitating comprehensive adaptive control of energy storage converters. The efficacy of the proposed control scheme has been substantiated through simulation results.
