Novel Relay Design for the NOMA-Based Cooperative Relaying System with ISIC and ICSI

This article explores a cooperative relaying (CR) system enhanced by non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) to reduce outage probability (OP) and improve spectral efficiency over Rayleigh fading channels. We derive expression for the OP, taking into account the practical challenges of imperfect channel state information and successive interference cancellation. Additionally, we provide asymptotic expressions for OP at high signal-to-noise ratios for deeper insights. The analysis also examines how various parameters affect OP, comparing the NOMA-based CR network's performance against traditional orthogonal multiple access (OMA) systems. Simulations validate our findings, demonstrating significant improvements in OP under challenging conditions.
