Application and Practice of Inter Domain Fault Localization Technology in Open Optical Network

For devices that support open optical networks, a technology for solving fault location problems in cross-domain scenarios is proposed. It uses optical module tone modulation to create unoccupied register space for status code reporting, ensuring accurate information transmission through a robust docking and response mechanism. By establishing inter-domain communication, periodic messages allow local modules to access remote module connection status, providing essential data for fault location. A unified YANG model standardizes data reporting for-mats across manufacturers, and telemetry technology is employed for performance reporting, supporting rapid data acquisition and reducing redundancy to improve efficiency. Status codes are encapsulated in local module performance data for stable reporting. Fault location is pinpointed by analyzing status codes, with root cause analysis providing clear solutions. Simulations with 100GBASR-LR4 modules confirm the technology's accuracy and timeliness, significantly improving fault location speed and precision in open optical networks.
