Methodology for assessing the capacity credit of Wind-Solar-Hydro considering additional capacity credit

This paper proposes a method for assessing the capacity credit of wind-solar-hydro alliance, taking into account the additional reliable capacity provided by their cooperative operation. Initially, a 24-hour operational model for the power system featuring the wind-solar-hydro alliance is created, aiming to minimize load shedding. Through cyclic iteration, a one-year time series of power distribution for the wind-solar-hydro alliance is generated, and its capacity credit is evaluated using reliability indices and the effective load carrying capacity calculation method. The findings indicate that the collaborative effect of the wind-solar-hydro alliance enhances the additional capacity credit. Furthermore, as wind penetration increases, the credible capacities of wind power (WP), photovoltaic (PV) systems, and the wind-solar-hydro alliance all exhibit a notable decline, while the additional capacity credit remains relatively stable.
