Design of A Broadband Electric Field Meter Based on The Mach-Zehnder Interferometric Effect of Asymmetric Straight Waveguide
The power grid has raised the bar for the depth, breadth, and density of information perception in the modern day. One of the major scientific research projects in the field of metrology that is now being undertaken is the investigation of novel power sensors. The article presents the mathematical relationship between the structure of the optical waveguide and the working point of the measuring instrument as well as the sensing performance. It is primarily based on the fundamentals of the electric field measuring instrument with asymmetric straight waveguide Mach-Zehnder interference effect. The project involved the design and testing of an optoelectronic widefrequency electric field measurement apparatus for industrial frequency electric field, lightning strike electric field, and temperature adaptability. According to experiments, the meter has a measurement error of less than 3% and can measure the broadband electric field and industrial frequency with an accuracy of up to 0.99. The meter can precisely measure the electric field created by a lightning strike simultaneously. The field test error for a 10kV substation is not greater than 10%.
