The Effect of Job Training Satisfaction of Life Supporters in Rural Area Customized Care Services for Older Adults on Service Quality: Dual Sequential Mediating Effect of Self-Efficacy and Occupational Identity
Objectives This study aims to verify the sequential double mediation effect of self-efficacy and job identity in the effect of job training satisfaction of life support workers in rural areas on service quality. Methods A survey was conducted on life support workers working in organizations providing customized elderly care services in rural areas of Chungcheongnam-do, and the data of 215 people were ultimately used for analysis. As an analysis method, SPSS PROCESS macro model 6 developed by Hayes (2013) and bootstrap technique were used to verify the significance of the mediation effect. Results It was confirmed that self-efficacy and job identity had a complete double mediation effect in the relationship between job training satisfaction and service quality. In other words, the higher the level of job training satisfaction of life support workers, the higher the level of self-efficacy, and the higher the level of self-efficacy, the higher the job identity. Therefore, it was confirmed that the higher the level of job identity, the better the service quality. Conclusions In order to improve the service quality of life support workers providing customized care services for the elderly in rural areas, it is necessary to establish practical and policy measures that can increase job training satisfaction as well as self-efficacy and job identity.
