AI-related research has surged since 2023, with journal articles being far more prevalent than dissertations. Nearly half of the studies focus on teaching methods and program development, followed by theoretical discussions, educational effects, educational technology, and current educational conditions. Most studies target human participants, with nearly half focusing on primary and secondary students. Qualitative research is the most common method, followed by mixed methods, literature reviews, quantitative research, and program or tool development. As the first study analyzing AI-related research trends in Korean art education, this paper serves as a foundation for future research directions.
