Penerapan Seismic Hazard dalam Penentuan Premi Asuransi Gempa Jawa Barat 2010-2024

Earthquakes are vibrations or shocks that occur on the earth's surface due to the sudden release of energy in the earth's crust. This energy is released due to movement and interaction between tectonic plates, faults, or volcanic activity. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), 152 earthquakes have occurred in the West Java region from 2010 to May 2024 with a minimum magnitude of 3.9 mw. The earthquake disaster caused severe damage in the West Java region. These earthquakes create human tragedies, collapse the economy, and disrupt development. Therefore, it is necessary to consider a national policy to provide insurance for people living in disaster- vulnerable areas. This study purposes to investigate and determine the level of application of seismic hazard in determining insurance premiums using earthquake data in West Java in 2010-2024 using a quantitative approach with PSHA (Probalistic Seismic Hazard Analysis). The results obtained from earthquake data in West Java for West Java Province, the total premium rate that must be paid by the insurance company to the insured party is in the amount of Rp. 607,562,930, - up to Rp. 175,790,842,5, - every year.
