Difficulties and Coping Experiences in Research Faced by Graduate Students in Education Majors
This study aims to analyze the difficulties and coping experiences of graduate students majoring in education during their research processes. Through qualitative case studies, the study identified challenges such as ambiguity in selecting research topics, lack of proficiency in research methodologies and tools, and difficulties in communication with advisors and peers. Additionally, environmental constraints such as insufficient academic and financial support, as well as an imbalance caused by juggling work and academics, were found to hinder sustainable research efforts. Participants sought to continue their research by reviewing prior studies, consulting with advisors and peers, and engaging in stress-relieving activities. The findings suggest that systematic education in the early stages of research, financial support for academic activities, and the provision of psychological counseling services are necessary to support the academic growth of graduate students. This study is expected to serve as a foundational resource for improving the quality of graduate education and fostering a sustainable research environment.
