Analysis and classification of tomato leaf disease using YOLOV8
Diseases in tomato plants primarily affect the leaves, causing symptoms such as yellowing, wilting, and brown spots, which can impair photosynthesis and reduce crop yield. Tomato leaf diseases are often due to fungal or viral infections. Traditionally, these diseases are classified manually by observing leaf conditions directly, a method that is inefficient and limited by human expertise, especially at scale. This study leverages YOLOv8 for automated analysis and classification of diseases in tomato leaves. YOLOv8 represents a significant advancement in the YOLO series, providing faster and more precise detection compared to earlier versions. The best result of this research are 97.92% accuracy, 0.32 loss, 99.60% precision, 99.50% recall, 99.30% mAP50, and 92.80% mAP50-95.
