Science:Core regulator of rice immunity: The role of classical protein complexes on homeostasis and multipathogen resistance
Plants have evolved complex immune networks to adapt to survival needs, and their immune mechanisms have unique regulatory patterns to cope with different environments. In rice, the maintenance of immune balance involves the synergistic action of many factors. Yue Wu et al. 's latest research results on the immunomodulatory mechanism of rice ( ROD1 and the interaction between various proteins in rice) are introduced in this paper. • ROD1 emerges as a crucial regulator in rice immunity. Under normal conditions, it inhibits OsTIR to avert immune overreaction. In the face of pathogen attack or mutation, it activates the EPA complex, thereby enhancing disease resistance. • The pRib-AMP and pRib-ADP generated by OsTIR are pivotal in promoting the formation of the rice EPA complex, inducing conformational changes in proteins and playing a central role in immune defense. • The interaction between ROD1 and OsTIR restricts the activity of OsTIR , preventing the overtransmission of immune signals, which holds great significance for the precise immune regulation in rice.
