A STUDY ON QUANTIFICATION OF “THE CENTER OF GRAVITY OF LIGHT” IN NON-UNIFORM LIGHTING ENVIRONMENT (PART 2): INVESTIGATIONS FOR WEIGHTING OF LUMINANCE AT POSITIONS WITHIN THE FIELD OF VIEW

In this paper, in order to more accurately estimate “the center of gravity of light” from luminance distributions, weighting of luminance at positions within the field of view is investigated. Subject evaluation experiments were conducted to confirm the position of the center of gravity of light perceived by humans for each of the horizontal, elevation, and depression angles. And, in order to estimate this position with high accuracy, the weight of brightness for each position within the field of view was studied. As a result, formulas for weighting each angle in the horizontal, elevation, and depression directions were obtained.
