SUBSTANTIATION OF THE METHOD OF MAINTAINING AIR FLOW UNIFORMITY ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE UNDERGROUND VENTILATION CHANNEL OF THE SUGAR BEET CAGAT VENTILATION SYSTEM
Description of the technology of long-term ventilated storage of root crops at sugar beet points of sugar factories using a floor active ventilation system equipped with various types of air ducts with a length equal to the width of the formed pile with outlet openings of various shapes and crosssectional areas located at certain distances along the entire length of the air ducts is presented. The objective of the research to improve the pile ventilation system by developing an air duct design that takes into account the aerodynamic properties of the air flow depending on the design of the air duct and air outlet openings, the type of material used and the tasks for its implementation. formulated. Analytical expressions are obtained for determining friction losses in a rectangular air duct. They depend on the dimensions of the cross-section and length of the air duct, the density and air velocity in the duct and the coefficient of resistance to air flow, the cross-sectional area of the horizontal air duct taking into account the flow rate and the recommended air velocity in its specific section, and the actual air velocity in the duct. The method and technical means for ensuring the optimum temperature of sugar beet root crops in a given range in large piles at beet points during long-term ventilated storage at sugar factories are substantiated. At the same time, uniformity of air flow is ensured along the entire length of the ventilation duct. Technical means for adjusting and regulating the uniformity of air flow in a ventilation duct of various cross-sections with an air outlet opening is proposed. The presented technical means will ensure uniformity of air distribution in ventilation branches for piles, which will increase the safety of sugar beets during long-term storage.
