Development of Upper Limb Strength in Primary Schoolchildren Through Ukrainian Traditional Physical Games

The development of upper limb strength in primary schoolchildren through Ukrainian traditional physical games is discussed in this article. Ukrainian folk games are considered as a means of developing upper limb strength in children of primary school age. Based on the analysis of literature sources, it was established that the issue of developing upper limb muscle strength in primary schoolchildren through Ukrainian traditional physical games has not been sufficiently studied, which makes this research relevant. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of Ukrainian traditional physical games on the development of upper limb strength in primary schoolchildren. The study thoroughly analyzes the results of an experiment, where muscle strength of the right and left hand of primary schoolchildren was measured using a children's hand dynamometer during physical education classes. The research highlights the comparative results of surveys of experimental groups of primary schoolchildren, compared to similar data from control groups, which made it possible to objectively assess the dynamics of upper limb muscle strength development in primary schoolchildren and analyze the changes that occurred in their physical development. The results of the experiment showed that throughout the school year, the use of Ukrainian traditional physical games in physical education classes led to a slight increase in upper limb muscle strength in both experimental and control groups of primary schoolchildren. The conclusion was made that Ukrainian traditional physical games do not significantly affect the development of upper limb muscle strength in primary schoolchildren. It was proved that, of all physical qualities, upper limb muscle strength in primary schoolchildren increases gradually.
