The importance of special endurance and agility in the training system of racing skiers

One of the essential factors that determine the level of special performance of the skier-racer is endurance and agility, through them the entire motor potential in competitions is realized. Therefore, of particular interest is the study of the peculiarities of the development of these qualities. The problem of development and improvement of endurance and agility in athletes is very relevant and attracts constant attention of physiologists, teachers, athletes and coaches. Ski racing, as is known, is a typical endurance sport. In physiological terms, they refer to moderate-intensity work. However, when overcoming climbs and finishing sections, the power of work is determined by the time and amount of energy expended, which increases significantly and approaches submaximal. The agility of the skier-racer is determined by his ability to optimally control the speed of movement during the race, to build a competitive activity depending on the situation, which develops in order to take a high place in the competition. Since in each race the running conditions and the competitive situation are constantly changing, and from one competition to another it is practically not repeated as on the same track, a high level of agility is the main condition for achieving the top of skill in ski racing. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the role and importance of endurance and agility in the system of training skiers and the realization of motor potential in competitions. To obtain the most significant results of the study and their interpretation, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and synthesis, systematization, generalization of information presented in scientific sources.
