Rapid Search Algorithm for Static Security Region of Power Systems with Flexible Resources

Considering flexible resources such as wind turbine generations (WTGs), energy storage, and variable loads, power systems are expected to become the mainstream trend of future power grids. Therefore, this paper establishes the security region for WTGs injection space and calculates the output range of WTGs while ensuring the stable operation of the grid. In terms of solving the security region model, common methods include the Optimal Power Flow (OPF) method and the Radial Iteration Search Algorithm, each with its own limitations. This paper improves these methods by combining their advantages to enhance search efficiency. Finally, a case study involving the WECC-9 bus power system is employed to verify the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed method.
