High Precision Synchronization for Double-ended PD Detection of Power Cables
The precision of clock synchronization (CS) significantly influences the partial discharge (PD) localization of double-ended detection on the power cable. This paper presents a novel method of synchronizing the time of different ends by means of spread spectrum communication. The CS process is realized through three times the interaction of the CS signal. The cable is selected as the communication channel of the CS signal. The method guarantees effective communication of the ends under low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. Finally, experiments were made to verify the method’s effectiveness on the power cable.
