A IMPORTÂNCIA DA TOMOGRAFIA COMPUTADORIZADA DE SEIOS DA FACE NO PLANEJAMENTO PRÉ-OPERATÓRIO DAS CIRURGIAS RINOSSINUSAIS: REVISÃO LITERÁRIA
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and challenges of computed tomography of the sinuses in the context of preoperative planning for rhinosinusal surgeries. To search for eligible responses, a narrative review was carried out, constructed by selecting samples extracted from scientific databases: VHL and PUBMED. Based on the results and discussions evaluated, in line with what was presented, it can be highlighted that the appropriate use of computed tomography, whether traditional of the sinuses or cone beam, plays a fundamental role in the management of rhinosinusitis and related surgeries. This technology not only provides a detailed view of nasal and sinus anatomy, essential for accurate preoperative planning, but also helps mitigate complications by identifying relevant anatomical and pathological variations. The continuous evolution of imaging methods promises to further improve diagnostic and therapeutic accuracy, ensuring more effective and safe surgical results for patients. Therefore, the main outcome of this research demonstrated that CT offers significant advantages in the detailed visualization of nasal and sinus anatomy, enabling more precise and personalized surgical planning. The ability of CT to identify pathological conditions, such as severe sinusitis and relevant anatomical variations, directly contributes to the reduction of postoperative complications and the improvement of clinical results.
