The special shadow-complexity of #k(S1 × S3)

The special shadow-complexity is an invariant of closed [Formula: see text]-manifolds defined by Costantino using Turaev’s shadows. We show that for any positive integer [Formula: see text], the special shadow-complexity of the connected sum of [Formula: see text] copies of [Formula: see text] is exactly [Formula: see text].

Abstract

The special shadow-complexity is an invariant of closed [Formula: see text]-manifolds defined by Costantino using Turaev’s shadows. We show that for any positive integer [Formula: see text], the special shadow-complexity of the connected sum of [Formula: see text] copies of [Formula: see text] is exactly [Formula: see text].
