Sangomar : un mythe, des ressources, un environnement de production

Abstract: Several decades of aspiration for development, a concept that remained at the stage of a political slogan, justify the desire to design objects, approaches and methods of scientific research likely to support a lasting science-society-nature partnership for a common well-being. The permanent society-environment exchanges attested by the functioning of ecosystems call for more attention to their true foundations. Classified as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO (1981) and rich in the diversity of its ecosystems, the Saloum delta is the setting for our research (2009-2015) focusing on the intangible foundation of the centuries-old valorization of natural resources. This article is intended to be a contribution to the knowledge of the « Sangomar » myth, an unshakeable belief of the Niominka sereer, a source of endogenous knowledge that can be used to develop inclusive sciences in the service of environmental sustainability. Keywords: Sangomar, endogenous knowledge, myth, spatialization, inclusion
