Pengembangan Bahan Ajar IPS Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Tradisi Sedekah Bumi Desa Laban-Menganti, Gresik

This paper discusses the development of social studies teaching materials based on local wisdom of the sedekah bumi tradition. The development of teaching materials based on local wisdom is expected to be an alternative to foster the desired character where students can be sensitive to the phenomena that occur around students. One of the local wisdom values that can be developed as a source of character education in social studies learning is certainly chosen based on life values that are expected to be able to help students see and learn the meaning or significance of life and apply them in their daily lives. The results of the research on the development of social studies module teaching materials based on local wisdom of the sedekah bumi tradition in Laban village on the theme of Indonesian cultural diversity in class VII of SMP N 2 Menganti were assessed through assessments by media experts, material experts, and student responses. The assessment of the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility and graphics received an average score of 3.7 with a very good category. Student responses during the trial received an average percentage of 93.6% with very good criteria. Student responses to the integration of character education values in the module were 96% with a very good category. Thus, the social studies module based on local wisdom of the earth alms tradition in Laban village that has been developed can be said to be suitable for use as teaching material on the theme of Indonesian cultural diversity and can be used as a source for developing character values.
