Enhancing Care and Communication for Paralyzed Patients: A Microcontroller-Based Gesture Sensor Approach with GSM Integration

In today’s society, numerous individuals are experiencing physical disabilities caused by paralysis or accidents, resulting in a dependence on caregivers. Paralysis is characterized by the impairment of one or more muscles in the body, and microcontroller-based circuitry plays a crucial role in assisting these patients. In some cases, appliances are controlled by the patient’s hand motion, while the system also monitors the patient’s needs, heartbeat and temperature. When a paralysis attack occurs, the patient’s body may be partially or fully immobilized, making communication challenging. This makes it difficult for medical staff to comprehend the patient’s needs, such as eating, drinking, bathing, and other daily activities. This paper enables health officers to assist paralyzed patients by responding to messages sent via the GSM network. The paper includes several gesture sensor instructions to help health officers meet the needs of paralyzed patients.
