Building A Cloud Native Kubernetes System On RISC-V
In recent years, the application of cloud-native container technology has become increasingly widespread, especially with the rise of large models, which has further propelled the development of this technology. Kubernetes, as a popular container orchestration platform, has become the preferred tool for managing the lifecycle of containerized applications due to its powerful capabilities. Currently, Kubernetes mainly runs on x86 and ARM architectures, with very limited support for RISC-V, which restricts the development of RISC-V in the cloud-native field. In this paper, we discuss building a cloud-native Kubernetes system based on the RISC-V architecture, fully leveraging the advantages of RISC-V to provide new development directions for cloud-native applications. We have created a container image repository based on the RISC-V architecture and compiled container images for over one hundred mainstream applications in the industry. Finally, we demonstrate the deployment of a multi-cluster management system using RISC-V container images.
