Comparative Research on Power and Junction Temperature in 2, 4, 8 bit Multiplier Using Nikhlam Sutra
Now a days several countries are struggling with energy shortage. In response to this issue, research and development efforts have focused on simulation and implementation of most power consuming device i.e. multiplier by means of ancient energy-efficient technology using Nikhlam technique of Ancient Indian Mathematics i.e. this innovation aims to support environmentally conscious communication technologies by enhancing energy efficiency. The Traditional method of multiplication takes a lot of time and steps, making it less efficient. Vedic procedure involves minimum number of steps as well as space-consuming. One of the multiplication methods is Nikhlam multiplication in which problems can be solved in a step or two. Among the families of FPGA, The Kintex 7, Defence Grade Artix 7, Spartan6, Spartan3E and Spartan-3A DSP have been evaluated for their energy consumption and temperature performance for two, four & Eight-bit multipliers.
