Investigations on Microgrid based Photovoltaic and Wind Energy Systems in Standalone mode

This paper presents the Standalone Microgrid system configuration i.e., incorporation of renewable energy sources - Solar and Wind has implemented in Matlab/Simulink platform. The goal is to unlimits the utilization rate by reducing the operation expenses over the lifecycle and by maintaining the power supply reliability. The mathematical modelling of the Solar and Wind energy systems is developed to predict their performance under various environmental conditions. DC/DC Bi-directional converter-based Battery considered as backup energy source for reliable the power supply. Further, an L filter is employed to reduce the harmonics. To achieve the MPPT of Solar, RBFNN is proposed. This technique enhances the adaptability and accuracy of MPPT in fluctuating conditions. The system performance is evaluated through simulation results. The proposed system demonstrates significant improvement for power system balancing condition and stability in terms of mitigation harmonics, current THDs in limits, validating the effectiveness of the system with the above advanced technique.
