Missile Guidance system using Kalman Filtering
The proposed system uses the Kalman filter to improve missile trajectory accuracy in various conditions. Guiding systems demonstrate the system’s effectiveness in enhancing the precision and reliability of missile guidance. Integrating Kalman filtering and proportional navigation guidance aims to boost accuracy and resilience. By combining sensor data and predictive algorithms, the system can adjust real-time missile trajectories to counter disturbances and uncertainties. The proposed system consists of three stages: Kalman filtering on noisy target data, implementing the proportional navigation guidance law on clean target data, and maximizing single-shot kill probability by minimizing miss distance. Constant step sizes are employed for both the target and the missile. The miss distance is calculated by interpolating the previous two target positions by a factor of ten and measuring the distance between the missile and the target every 0.1 seconds. The system aims to increase single-shot kill probability by reducing miss distance to approximately 10 meters, a significant improvement in accuracy.
