Antiviral activity of glycopeptide antibiotics derivates against Sindbis virus
ment challenge due to antibiotic resistance. In our study,92.8% of the Salmonella strains were Salmonella typhi, and 7.2% were Salmonella Paratyphi mirroring results from a 2022 study in Lahore, Pakistan.Another study in Pakistan reported 46.77% (n = 29) MDR and 51.61% (n = 32) XDR isolates, whereas ours found 11% MDR and 35% XDR; the variance may be attributed to differences in sample size Conclusions: A high prevalence of antimicrobial resistance was observed in Salmonella Typhi and Paratyphi blood samples, particularly among children with extensively drug-resistant (XDR) strains. This highlights the urgency for targeted preventive measures and treatment strategies.Emphasizing prudent antimicrobial usage and implementing robust surveillance systems are crucial to monitor and address evolving patterns of enteric fever and antimicrobial resistance
