Impact of gut dysbiosis on coenzyme Q10 levels
This study investigates the relationship between intestinal dysbiosis and coenzyme Q10 deficiency in a group of 13 patients. The results indicated that all participants exhibited a coenzyme Q10 deficiency, associated with imbalances in intestinal microbiota, elevated fecal pH, and a highmicrobialload, particularly for pathogenicspeciessuch as Candida albicans. These changes suggeset that dysbiosis may affect the absorption and utilization of coenzyme Q10, reducing metabolic efficiency and promoting oxidative stress. The study highlights the critical role of a balanced microbiota in maintaining optimal coenzyme Q10 levels, essential for mitochondrial and antioxidant health. Conclusions recommend dietary and probiotic interventions to restore microbiotic balance, aiming to improve coenzyme Q10 absorption and support the body’s energy and immune functions. These findings underscore the importance of monitoring and optimizing intestinal health in managing coenzyme Q10 deficiencies.
