Convergence of compactly supported <i>L <i>p</i> </i> solutions of the dilation equation

Abstract This paper discusses the existence of compact L p solutions for the dilation equation. We use Iterative Function Schemes to analyze the solutions of the equation under different conditions. In d-dimensional space, the existence of the solution of the dilation equation and the necessary and sufficient conditions are discussed, and some conclusions are obtained.
