Simulation of CO2 adsorption by porous materials based on lattice Boltzmann method

Abstract In order to achieve the goal of the “National Dual Carbon Program”, a numerical model for the adsorption of CO 2 gas by ZIFs adsorbent particles was established by using the lattice Boltzmann method on the characterization volume scale, and the influence of inlet temperature on adsorption performance was studied. The results show that when the inlet temperature of flue gas varies from 308K to 363K, the adsorption capacity of ZIFs adsorbent particles for CO 2 per unit mass gradually decreases with the increase of inlet temperature. It is recommended that the condensing tube be set in the actual adsorption application or that the corresponding functional group on the ZIFs molecule be added to improve the adsorption performance of CO 2 .
