Population Aging Trends
The United Nations states that population aging will become one of the most significant social transformations of the 21st century, with implications for almost all sectors of society, as well as family structures and intergenerational ties. For pharmacists, senior care pharmacy has always been part of our profession, simply because the majority of our overall patient population are older people. Even if you work in pediatrics, you are likely to interact with grandparents caring for grandchildren, and skills relevant to geriatrics and geriatric pharmacy will in some way intersect.
