Integrating a Biblical Worldview Into Instructional Design: Evangelistic Tools for Christian Education in the Indonesian Context

Objective: This study aims to address the challenges faced by Christian schools in Indonesia in fulfilling their evangelical mission, including a lack of understanding of Christian pedagogy, a shortage of Christian educators, and limited resources. Specifically, it explores how integrating a biblical worldview into instructional design can serve as a strategic solution to these issues. Method: The research employs a qualitative case study approach, focusing on the application of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) instructional design model. Data collection includes interviews, document analysis, and observations in Christian education settings. Results and Discussion: The findings reveal that embedding biblical principles within the ADDIE instructional design enhances educators’ understanding of their Christian calling, facilitates transformative learning experiences, and strengthens the evangelical mandate. These practices enable educators to integrate Christian values into their teaching methods, fostering a distinctively Christian educational environment. Moreover, the integration of a biblical worldview encourages non-Christian teachers to align with the school's values, thereby mitigating the challenges posed by financial constraints and the employment of non-Christian educators. Research Implications: This study highlights the practical implications of using biblical worldview integration as a pedagogical framework in Christian schools. It provides a model for equipping educators to balance professional responsibilities with their spiritual mission, offering valuable insights for Christian educational leaders in Indonesia and similar contexts. Originality/Value: This research contributes to the literature by presenting an innovative application of the ADDIE model through the lens of a biblical worldview. It underscores the importance of instructional design in addressing the unique challenges of Christian education in a multicultural and resource-constrained setting, offering a strategic tool for advancing the evangelical mission in Indonesia.
