A local control of interlinking DC/DC converters in DC microgrid clusters for global power sharing
A new local control strategy for global power sharing (GPS) of islanded DC microgrid (DCMG) clusters is proposed to achieve efficiency and reliability. In the proposed method, power reference of interlinking DC/DC converters (IDCs) are determined to equalize DC voltage levels for both sides. Different from the conventional proportional integral (PI) controller-based control scheme, the proposed method can be implemented for multiple IDCs in a stable manner. The stability of the proposed method is assessed by developing a small-signal state-space (SS) model of the test system and conducting an eigenvalue analysis. Further- more, selection philosophy of appropriate parameters for the proposed control scheme is provided. Finally, the proposed method is validated through electro-magnetic transient (EMT) simulation and is compared to that of the conventional method.
