Laboratory diagnostics of a new generation of synthetic spice cannabinoids during forensic toxicological examination

The emergence of new types of designer drugs, spice, is one of the most important problems in the fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors, and the non-medical use of new psychoactive substances, the legal status of which has not yet been determined. A particular danger is the spread of new synthetic psychoactive substances with high specificity of action and effectiveness even in small quantities, i.e. «analog drugs». In this regard, the paper presents methods for the identification of narcotic substances and describes the chromatographic and spectral characteristics of synthetic spice cannabinoids. The interrelationships between biochemical parameters in positive studies on synthetic spice cannabinoids have been studied.
