Wideband Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna with Defected Ground for 5G,6G, and mmWave Application

Rectangular dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) with multiple frequency band operations and high gain are the proposed design. The X, K, Ka and Ku bands are among the frequency ranges it covers. The antenna features a microstrip feed and two strategically placed circular and rectangular incisions on its Defected Ground Structure (DGS) to enhance performance. These design elements increase bandwidth, regulate current distribution, and improve impedance matching, making the antenna more suitable for high-frequency applications. the suggested antenna performs at the operating frequencies 10.9GHz,14.9GHz,22.2GHz,27.6GHz and 34.4GHz ,its S11 =31.67dB,S11=16.07dB,S11=18.78dB, S11=32.4dB and S11=20.16dB and covering a bandwidth of 10.13-11.72GHz ,13.83-16.21GHz, 18.32-23.05GHz and 32.91-44.02GHz respectively, where good impedance matching is evident. It cover a bandwidth of 14.67%,15.97%,21.26% and 26.56% respectively. A gain of 6.36dB at 10.9GHz,5.57dB at 14.9GHz,6.06dB at 22.2GHz,7.08dB at 27.6GHz and 9.14dB at 34.4GHz radiation efficiency was found to be more than 94.38% within the targeted working frequency spectrum 10.13 to 11.72GHz, more than 94.93% within the targeted working frequency spectrum of 13.83GHz-16.21GHz, more than 96.39% within the targeted working frequency spectrum of 18.32GHz-23.05GHz, more than 98.6% within the targeted working frequency spectrum of 26.3GHz-32.46GHz and more than 99.4% within the targeted working frequency spectrum of 32.91GHz-44.02GHz. Applications where dependable, high-performance operation is crucial, like satellite communications, military aircraft, defense tracking systems, medical, and radar communication systems, are particularly well-suited for this antenna.
