Investigation of Non-linear Optical Properties of CdSe Quantum Dots by Z-Scan Technique
Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) quantum dots were produced using a chemical colloidal synthesis technique. Their nonlinear optical behavior was evaluated through the Z-scan experiment, where closed-aperture measurements revealed self-defocusing effects, and open-aperture measurements indicated saturable absorption. The quantum dots were extensively characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence analysis, and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. These findings highlight the potential applications of CdSe quantum dots in the use of optical switching and photonic technologies.
