A High-Gain Miniaturized Dual-Polarization Square Patch Antenna

A novel design for a miniaturized dual-polarized square patch antenna with high-gain is presented. The formation of a simple array with the radiating patches enables the achievement of high gain. In order to reduce the number of feed ports, the antenna employs a coupling feeding technique for excitation, thereby achieving miniaturization through the bending and layering of the feed arms. Activation of different feed ports enables the antenna to operate in either vertical polarization (VP) or horizontal polarization (HP). The measured bandwidth (SII < -15 dB) of the proposed antenna is 875 MHz to 930 MHz, with port isolation exceeding 25 dB across this frequency range. The measured maximum gain of the proposed antenna is 9.43 dBi (VP) and 9.46 dBi (HP), and the cross-polarization ratio is above 20 dB in the main radiation direction, indicating robust radiation performance.
