Intelligent Blind Stick Using Digital Image Processing
Intelligent blind stick is a smart device that guides the visually impaired to do shopping by identifying objects and conveying them the particulars in voice form through headphone for understanding their surroundings in a better way. Also, it helps the visually impaired people to navigate between different locations without any assistance from others. The stick can furthermore be used in places where elder people find it difficult to carry out their daily activities due to reduced vision. The aim of the paper is to develop the prototype of intelligent blind stick to support people with visual impairment to know about their environment. As the field of machine learning is achieving greater progress in different fields, these features are also incorporated in the proposed work. The proposed work focuses on object recognition based on pictures taken by the camera, which is mounted on the stick and provides voice message about the things displaced in shops to the user through headphone.
