Diferenciação textural – lessivagem, elutriação e ferrólise
The textural differentiation, with clay accumulation in the B horizon in relation to the overlying horizons, derives from distinct pedogenetic processes: lessivation (clayluviation or deargilization), elutriation and ferrolysis. This review aimed to discuss the definition, occurrence and particularities of textural differentiation in soils, arising from the abovementioned pedogenetic processes. Lesivation promotes the movement of the clay fraction in suspension in three phases: dispersion, transport and accumulation. Elutriation removes suspended clay from erosion, where surface flow transports suspended clay to the soil surface until water infiltration occurs. In ferrolysis, clays in surface horizons are destroyed through temporary hydromorphism.
