Translation as Social and Ecological Justice

Abstract This review essay focuses on a variant of Roman Jakobson’s interlingual typology of translation. It suggests that we reevaluate our interpretation of natural signs to secure a broader ontological and cosmological platform from which to theologize about the interlingual forms of communicative interpretation. Pamela Beattie, Simona Bertacco, and Tatjana Soldat-Jaffe’s Time, Space, Matter in Translation ; Maria Dasca and Rosa Cerarols’ Translation Studies and Ecology ; and Wine Tesseur’s Translation as Social Justice provide a ramp in precisely this direction.
