ANALYSIS OF THE PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES OF BALANCING RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN THE POWER SYSTEM OF UKRAINE

Abstract. The article analyzes the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in Ukraine, particularly wind and solar generation. It examines the impact of "green tariffs," cost reduction in technologies, and improvements in the business climate on the active installation of RES capacities. The study explores the ability of Ukraine's power system to balance fluctuations in RES generation, challenges with reserves, as well as issues related to the integration of RES into the country's energy system and the possibilities for connection to ENTSO-E.
