Profil Epidemiologique De Sensibilité Des Hémocultures Dans Le Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Mohamedvi Tanger, Maroc.
The study, carried out at the University Hospital MohamedVI in Tangiers, analysed blood cultures over a 17- month period to assess the epidemiological profiles of bacterial infections and their resistance to antibiotics. The results show that Gram-positive cocci, mainly *Staphylococcus aureus*, are the main cause of bacteremia, with a notable prevalence of penicillin G-resistant strains. In contrast, Gram-negative bacteria, such as *Acinetobacter baumannii*, are multi-resistant to conventional antibiotics, often responding only to minocycline and colistin. The detection of *Klebsiella pneumoniae* with the ESBL phenotype also raises concerns due to its widespread resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics. These results underline the crucial importance of ongoing surveillance and strategic adaptation to optimise therapies and limit the spread of resistant strains.
