Research of the workspace of specialized robotic complexes for group packaging of food products

The use of specialized robotic complexes (SRC) in packaging equipment has demonstrated its effectiveness and potential. However, the application of robotic complexes (RC) in packaging equipment remains at a relatively low level compared to other industries, and SRCs themselves require further optimization. One of the key parameters for optimization is the shape and size of the SRC's workspace. The purpose of this study is to examine modern SRCs in group packaging equipment and apply the proposed methodology for studying the workspace of existing SRCs as one of the key optimization parameters of RCs.An analysis of scientific studies dedicated to researching the workspace of RCs revealed a significant number of such studies. However, most of these studies are conducted without considering the context of technological processes in packaging equipment.A market study of packaging equipment identified 10 different companies that manufacture and integrate SRCs into their own packaging equipment. An analysis of the use of such SRCs in packaging equipment identified typical technological processes where SRCs are utilized, as well as their technical characteristics.Further research on the working zones of planar articulated SRCs was conducted using the proposed methodology, which is based on the decomposition of video materials of SRCs operation, modeling of the workspace, and verification of the obtained results using MatLab and Autodesk Inventor software. Thus, the proposed methodology allows for the study of existing SRCs and the modeling of workspace at the early stages of SRC design, and can be used for further research.
