Dynamic interactions of active distribution network and transmission network at multiple grid supply points
This paper is a dynamic study of the interaction between an active distribution network and a transmission network through eight grid supply points at 132 kV. Two different typologies have been adopted for the GSPs connection: radial and mesh. Also, the active distribution network has adopted diverse types of renewable energy resources. In addition, various load models have been adopted to represent several types of low-carbon technologies. Various disturbances have been applied by running electromechanical RMS simulations including three-phase short circuit faults at different locations and at different voltage levels and line outages. The research provides valuable insights into the network's ability to respond to unexpected events when the power network is rich in renewable energy resources and dynamic loads.
