The article is devoted to the archaeological research of ancient Minsk in the post-war years, the scientific activity of the first head of Minsk excavations of the Belarusian archaeologist V.R. Tarasenko (1899–1972) is considered. The content of the scientist’s personal archive is briefly analysed.
