DISFUNÇÃO ERÉTIL X SEXUALIDADE: O USO DA TERAPIA POR ONDAS DE CHOQUE EXTRACORPÓREA DE BAIXA INTENSIDADE NO TRATAMENTO DA DISFUNÇÃO ERÉTIL

Introduction: Sexuality is an essential characteristic for human life and influences the way the individual positions themselves in relation to the world. It is estimated that in Brazil, at least 25 million men, over 18 years of age, have some degree of erectile dysfunction and low-intensity shock wave therapy has been working to treat this dysfunction. Objective: To analyze the effect of treatment with Li-ESWT, identifying its effectiveness in the rehabilitation of erectile dysfunction. Methodology: The study is an integrative research. The PUBMED, SciELO, LILACS and PEDro platforms were used for research. Results: 257 articles were found on the topic, using the defined descriptives. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 articles remained considered eligible for the research. Final considerations: Li-ESWT proved to be an effective technique in increasing the IIEF-EF score, however, there are still gaps that require more research to improve the effectiveness of this treatment.
